PRECAST SOLUTIONS

Compact design

Less grout usage compared to corrugated tubes

Allows connection of bars

that are not perfectly aligned

Can be used for the connection of bars

of different diameters (transition splice)

Can be used with most standard

non-shrink grout

Groutec is a mechanical splicing system specially designed for the connection of precast concrete elements. It is designed and manufactured in compliance with Eurocode 2, BS 8110, ACI 318, IBC and AASHTO

Advanced Mechanical Splicing for Precast Concrete

Groutec is a high-performance mechanical splicing system specifically designed for connecting precast concrete elements with strength and reliability. Manufactured to meet Eurocode 2, ISO 15835, ACI 318 Type 2, IS 16172, and AASHTO standards, Groutec ensures compliance with global construction requirements.

Each Groutec sleeve is engineered to achieve an ultimate tensile strength equivalent to the actual strength of the rebar. The system is designed to exceed performance requirements by delivering strength greater than 125% of the specified yield strength:

The “plug and play” Solution

Splicing with Groutec is a simple two-step process:

1. Factory Preparation – The Groutec sleeve is attached to the reinforcement at the precast factory and positioned flush with the formwork before the concrete is poured.

2. On-Site Connection – At the construction site, the precast element is aligned with the adjacent element, ensuring the protruding bars enter the Groutec sleeve cavities. The cavities are then filled with high-strength grout, either by gravity or with a grouting pump, securing the connection.

Grout Compatibility

Groutec is designed for use with widely available cementitious, non-shrink grouts with a minimum compressive strength of 65 MPa. It has been tested with grouts from leading manufacturers with global distribution networks.

Note: Cement-based grouts may vary depending on local raw materials and climate conditions. First-time users are advised to conduct preliminary tests to confirm grout suitability.

Groutec Models

Groutec is available in three models, each tailored for different precast applications:

• Groutec L – A half-grouted sleeve with one threaded end and a wide body, providing greater tolerance for element connections.

• Groutec S – A half-grouted sleeve with one threaded end and a slim body, ideal for compact applications, such as narrow columns or slim wall panels.

• Groutec F – A fully grouted sleeve with no threaded ends, offering a simple, non-threaded connection for precast elements.
